Judson is 1 Month Old!

This sweet boy turned one month old today! Mommy decided we needed a photo shoot!

This photo shoot is wearing me out, Mommy!

I am done with this, Mommy!

Judson Taylor Watt- 1 Month Old- August 26, 2011

You are wearing a size 1 diaper

You are starting to outgrow your newborn clothes this week. Mainly because of the length. I am starting to put you in your 0-3 month clothes now.

You weigh about 8 1/2 pounds (according to us weighing you at home)

You are eating 3 oz of formula every 3 or 4 hours during the day. At night you sometimes can hold out a little longer.

You are beginning to become more alert and are staying awake for longer periods during the day.

You have started getting into a really great eat/wake/sleep schedule. We are going to Babywise you just like we did your brother! HA HA!!

You take great naps during the day despite the loud noises your big brother is constantly making!!

You seem to enjoy being on your tummy

You rarely take a paci

You love to spend time in your Nap Nanny or in your Rock and Play Sleeper seat

You are sleeping in your bed and have been for 2 weeks now

You love your bath time

You are always calm while lying on your changing table

You like to be swaddled at night

You make the cutest pouty face ever

You had your first sickness this month. Your big brother brought home a stomach bug from school and he shared it with you:-(

You are sweet and only cry when you are wet or hungry.

Your brother is crazy about you and Mommy and Daddy love you to pieces! We can't imagine our life without you!

My New Baby and Me

A sweet and precious friend of mine gave John Turner this book when Judson was born. It is going to be such a wonderful keepsake! It is basically a memory book that John Turner gets to make about himself and his baby brother.

It has places for John Turner to glue pictures of him, his brother and our family. He is all about being able to use the glue! He knows it is a special occasion if I am letting him use it all by himself!

It also has places for John Turner to draw pictures and show off his 2 year old artistic skills! It has questions for John Turner to answer about himself. His responses to the questions have been quite amusing!

Of course we had to take a break and build things with our crayons! He is such a boy! I mean I barely ever get him to even sit down and do arts and crafts with me!

John Turner is extremely proud of this memory book that he is making for him and his new brother!

First Day of School 2011

My big boy started back to school this past week. With all the changes going on around our house, I was worried about adding yet another change to his life right now. I was very worried about how he would adjust to being in a new classroom with new teachers.

I should not have worried at all! He did great! Once we got to his new classroom and he saw that his teachers had Bob the Builder on their door, he was just as happy as could be!

He recognized many of his friends from last year when he walked in. He also fell instantly in love with his new teachers, Ms. Alicia and Ms. Cathy. They are just precious and we both love them to death! I left him sitting at this table just playing with these fish. He didn't cry at all! He was such a big boy! It made it so much easier on Mommy to leave him! He just is getting so big on me so fast! I just can't stand that he is almost three!

We can already tell that this is going to be a great school year. I know he is going to learn so much!

Doctor's Visit

Judson went for his first pediatrician visit when he was four days old. Dr. Ross checked him out and said he was just perfect. When we took John Turner for his first visit we found out he had a broken collar bone and had to take him for his first x-ray that day. Judson's first appointment was much easier.

He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz at his appointment. Since he had lost a few ounces since birth, we had to take him back at two weeks old for a weight check. When I took him back last week, he had gained a whole pound! We were so proud!

Here are a few pictures from his first doctor visit.

First Two Weeks at Home

It's hard to believe that it has now been over two weeks since we became a family of four! Today is Judson's actual due date! I can't imagine how life was before him. It just seems like he belongs in our family and that he has always been a part of us!

Here are some pictures of Judson at one week old. He had already changed so much even at a week old!

Here are some pictures of him at two weeks old. He is really starting to look older and he is growing so much!

Judson has pretty much been an angel baby since we brought him home. He usually only cries if he is wet or if he is hungry.

At two weeks old, he is now getting on a regular feeding and sleeping schedule. Mommy loves that! He normally eats about every 3 hours or so during the day. At night, he sometimes goes 4 hours between feedings. One night this week he even went 5 hours!

Judson also went into his own bedroom this week and is now sleeping in his crib. It was so much harder for me to let him go to his room than it was with John Turner. I guess because I know how fast time has flown with John Turner and I am just trying to hold on to this precious baby time as long as possible with Judson.

Judson is also starting to wake up more during the day now. He is looking around and paying attention to our voices much more this week.

He is just a precious and perfect addition to our family!!!

Big Brother

We were all very worried about how John Turner would react to having a new baby in our house. He has been the one and only, the center of every one's world, for almost three years now! We read many books about being a big brother and having a new baby in the house. We talked about how things would change. He didn't really want to talk about the baby all that much while he was in my tummy.

After Judson was born, my mom picked John Turner up from my neighbor's house and brought him to the hospital. It was almost 5:00 when I had him, so they had Judson in the nursery until late that night. John Turner only got to see him through the nursery window the first day. Carlton was in the nursery with Judson when John Turner first went to see him. My mom said he cried and said, "That's my daddy!"

The next day my mom brought him up to the hospital and Judson was in the room with us. He still was not very happy about the baby at this point. He pretty much just wanted my mom to take him back home to play.

When he came back the next day to be with us to take Judson home, he was a little more into the baby. He wanted to help carry his car seat and he wanted to ride in the car with him.

Once we got Judson home, John Turner just transformed into the most amazing big brother! Judson could not ask for a better brother!

He wouldn't hold him for the first couple of days. Then he decided one day he wanted to hold him and now he wants to hold him all day long! If Judson is crying and John Turner holds him, he instantly just calms down! It is amazing!

The first thing John Turner asks me when he wakes up each morning is "Where's my baby?" Yes, he calls him "my baby". It is just precious to hear him say that. He tells everybody we see
"Look at my baby!"

He is a great helper also. He knows how to get me whatever I need for Judson. He loves to help feed him. He also gets on his step stool and watches me change diapers. He is really just wanting to see if brother has pooped! He is obsessed with that! BOYS! He told me the other day that all his baby does is eat and poop! So true!

John Turner really watches out for him already. If we are in another room and he hears Judson cry, he will say, "I've got to go check on my baby". The other day Judson started crying in the car. I heard John Turner tell him, "It's alright, brother. We are almost home and Mommy will feed you".

I am just loving watching my two boys bond! They are going to have such a wonderful time growing up together as brothers!

Hospital Vacation and Heading Home

I told Carlton at the hospital that I felt like we were on a little vacation. John Turner was with my mom being spoiled to the max, so all I had to do for two days was lie around and snuggle with this little bundle of joy!

Since my delivery was so much easier than last time, I was able to enjoy these first few days with Judson so much more than I was able to with JT.

Of course, I had to share some snuggle time with Daddy!

On Thursday morning, we were told we could go home. We enjoyed our mini vacation, but we were ready to bring our baby home and to hug and kiss his big brother!
We got him dressed in the special gown that Gran bought for him to wear home. She always buys a special gown for each grandchild to wear home from the hospital. He didn't seem to like it very much! Ha ha!

Big brother came to the hospital to help us bring baby brother home. (I'm going to write a whole post on how big brother is doing with the new baby when I have a chance) He really really wanted to carry the car seat!

I was so excited to take yet another precious baby boy home to my house!

Home Sweet Home!!

Our new family of four!

Visitors

We had many very special people visit us at the hospital. Of course, I only got pictures of about half of them!

My mom and my sister were both in the delivery room with me again this time. I also was in the delivery room for both of my sister's deliveries. We have a picture on the couch at the hospital just like this at each child's birth.
Such a special time to share with your mom and sister!

My niece, Carly, is in love with baby Judson! She wants to visit him every morning when she wakes up! She loves to act like his mommy and take care of him. It is just precious!

What would we do without this sweet lady? Our neighbor, Johnnie Nell, is always there to help us out. When we found out we were being admitted to the hospital on Tuesday morning she ran up there and got John Turner and took care of him for the day so we didn't have to worry about him. She's one precious lady!

Our sweet friend, Courtney. She's missing her hubby, Andy, and their two precious boys in this pic though. Such a caring and thoughtful family! Always there to help you with whatever you need!

Erin and Chad minus sweet Harper Anne. Erin and I were pregnant together with JT and Harper. They are like brother and sister! Erin is having another baby girl in October. I know Charlee Kate and Judson will be best of friends too.

Jenny and Abigail minus her two sweet boys, Will and Drew, and her hubby Steven. Jenny's friendship is such a blessing to me! She always takes care of me and knows just what I need. She's my lifeline on mommy stuff! This is one sweet family!

Carlton's Aunt Linda is always around to spoil the boys!

There were so many more friends and family members that came by and checked on us. I wish I'd got pictured of everyone.

Judson's Birthday

Well, this is a picture of me the day I became 37 weeks pregnant. I never imagined this would be the last picture of me pregnant with Judson!

I started having some contractions and feeling a little strange on Sunday night the 24th. I continued to have some contractions and feel strange all day Monday the 25th. That night the contractions became much stronger and much closer together. I woke Carlton up around midnight and told him I thought I might be in labor and that we should probably go to the hospital. My husband told me I was just having some contraction and to go lie down on my side in the recliner and I would get better. Well, I did just that and nothing got better!

When Carlton got up to go to work on Tuesday morning I was still having contractions. He decided then to take me up to the hospital and at least get checked. We woke John Turner up around 6:00 that morning and headed up to the hospital. I had dilated 3 cm and was having some contractions. So they wanted me to walk around the hospital for an hour and see if I was still progressing. After an hour of walking, I was at 4 cm. They then decided to monitor me for yet another hour! After that hour I was up to 5 cm and starting to have some stronger contractions. At this point they decided to go ahead and admit me! We were having a baby today!!

Here is us after finally being admitted. We were glad a decision had finally been decided and that we were going to get to meet our baby boy soon!

They ended up breaking my water around lunch that day. And at 4:49 p.m. Judson Taylor Watt made his debut! He weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. He was just perfect!

For those of you who know me well, you know my first delivery was not a very happy event for me! Well, I am happy to say that this time everything went perfectly! I got my epidural when I was at 6 cm and I never felt a thing after that! I was also glad to not have to endure 17 hours of labor this time!

Here is my sweet doctor, Dr. Myatt, showing us our new baby boy! So thankful he was there to delivery my baby this time!

Here is one proud daddy! He had two boys now!

Here is Mommy meeting her new baby boy for the first time! I was already in love!

Daddy showing off his new baby to all our family and friends waiting outside.

Daddy at the nursery getting a good look at his new baby boy.

I finally got my baby back later that night. Mommy was ready for some snuggle time!

What a great surprise he was! I never expected when I went to the hospital that morning to get checked that I would be holding my baby boy by 5:00 that afternoon! What a sweet blessing he is to our family!

More to come...
