Big Boy Bed!

Somebody spent his first night in a big boy bed last night!!

We had went to the store and picked out these bunk beds a while back. We weren't sure when they would be delivered. John Turner has been asking about them since the day we went and ordered them!

Well, yesterday the big boy beds arrived at our house. John Turner was napping when they arrived. He had a quite a surprise waiting on him when he awoke! He was very excited and told us he wanted to sleep in them last night. Well, when it got time for bed last night, he started to change his mind and ask for his baby bed. We talked about how he was too big for that bed and how the new baby was going to need it to sleep in. He finally climbed in! Of course he also brought along Glo-Glo, Big Al, Dolphin, Monkey and his Thomas the Train blanket!! We read some books and layed with him for a while. We then told him we had to leave. He cried for a very short period of time and then he went to sleep. He only woke up once about midnight. I went in and comforted him and put his blanket on him and he was back asleep. He slept until 7:00 this morning. He came running in our room screaming, "I woke up in my big boy bed!" He was so proud! We are going to have to work on getting out of the bed without calling Momma first!
He is now taking his very first nap in his big boy bed!

I can't decide if I want to be happy or sad about this! I am so thankful that is has been an easy transition for him! On the other hand, I am so sad that my baby will never sleep in his crib again!! BOO HOO!! It is OK because soon enough we will have another sweet baby boy occupying that crib!

New Toy!

John Turner and his daddy got a new toy! John Turner calls it "the buggy". I know that they will have so much fun riding around the woods on this thing. Momma gets to ride around the neighborhood on it which is pretty fun too! I guess since I am going to have two boys, these are the kind of fun toys I can look foward to having at my house:-). I wouldn't trade it for the world!! I love it!!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Today is the birthday of Dr. Seuss! John Turner's school had a big celebration today in honor of his birthday! The children dressed as one of their favorite characters from a Dr. Seuss book.

John Turner and his friend Deck decided to be Thing 1 and Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat! These were perfect characters for two wild and crazy toddlers to be!! By the way, getting a picture of these two together was torture this morning!! This was the best one I got out of about 1,000 pictures!! Oh the joys of dealing with a two year old!!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
