Judson is One!

Yes, my baby boy is now a one year old! I can not believe I am saying that! I just can't put into words how precious of an angel this boy is! He is the calmest, sweetest, happiest, snuggliest, most perfect angel in the world! I swear to you that at one year old we have only heard this child cry a few times! We just can not wait to see what this year holds!

This is the last picture of Judson as a baby. I took this the night before his first birthday.

And I decided to sneak into big brother's room and get a sleeping picture of him too. I LOVE his eyelashes!!!!

This is his first photo as the big ONE! You can see big brother pouting over something in the background! HA HA!!

John Turner and I had gotten up before Judson and made cinnamon rolls. We put a birthday candle in it and sang "Happy Birthday" to Judson. He wasn't sure what was going on! Then big brother showed him how to blow out his candle.

Then, of course, John Turner had to have us sing to him and blow out his own candle!

The sweet birthday boy!

Then we tried to take his picture with his 12 month sticker. Thank goodness this is the last sticker! I wore myself out trying to get a good one! I didn't get very many at all! I ended up chasing him with my phone all morning and managed to snap a few!

This is Judson at lunch that the day of his birthday. I decided to give him a fork and let him start playing and practicing with it. Well, this big boy new exactly what to do! He picked up those ravioli like a pro!

After lunch, John Turner gave him the birthday treat he had chosen for him at the grocery store earlier that morning. It was a big chocolate covered donut with sprinkles. The birthday boy loved it! He went straight into the bathtub after this!

Late that afternoon, we took Judson and had someone take his one year photos. We can not wait to see them! He did such a great job!

And finally it was time to say goodnight to the birthday boy! He was all smiles after a great day!

The next morning we got up and headed to see Dr. Ross for his one year check up! He did amazingly well at the doctor! I am used to taking John Turner for check-ups and he is not one who likes the doctor for any reason! Judson just layed there and let them do whatever they wanted to him! He got three shots and he did cry a little when he got those. But he was over it in no time and back to being his sweet little self!

The doctor said he was perfect! But we already knew that!!!!

Update from the iPhone

I honestly hardly ever get out my big camera these days. I always have my iPhone nearby so I just usually pull it out and snap a pic when I need to. So, here is a big update on what we have been doing this month according to my iPhone!

I have just loved having laid back mornings this summer with my boys. We usually head outside after breakfast so that we can play before it gets too terribly hot. The boys usually go out in their pajamas. We sometimes don't take our pajamas off until after lunch. Those are my favorite kind of days! This particular morning the boys were making me a very special breakfast on the back porch.

And then when it gets too hot we strip down to our underwear and play in the water and make mud pies!

Daddy had to glue down the tracks on the train table this month. The little munchkin in the corner just couldn't quit taking the whole thing apart!

John Turner and I got some one on one time this month. We had a afternoon movie date to see "Brave". It was a fabulous movie and we had a wonderful time. We shared popcorn and chocolate and just enjoyed being able to be by ourselves for a change!

We try to enjoy our new playground on afternoons when it is not too hot. John Turner has now gotten very brave and swings himself very high on his yellow swing.

Judson just like to try to climb on anything he can find!
The boys have spent a lot of time in their new sandbox.

And we have had a whole bunch of rain this month. John Turner loves a rainy day. Judson actually does as well. He will crawl all out in the rain and just play and play.

Because of so much rain, we have had to set up the tent in the house for the past few weeks. Gran came over one night for a camp out!

John Turner received five caterpillar larvae in the mail a couple of week ago. He was so excited to see the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly.
As of today, we now have five healthy painted lady butterflies. Cocoon, Coconut, Orange, Bush Hog and Rocket are doing well! We will be letting them take flight very soon!

Judson now loves to play at the water table. John Turner has pretty much outgrown it so it is perfect for Judson to play with while we are outside.

And this little tater tot isn't walking yet, but he is already into everything! He is going to be a climber for sure! He is already about to figure out how to climb the bunk bed ladder!

John Turner completed the summer reading program at the library by reading 51 books! We are so proud of him! He received this certificate and a whole bag of prizes.

My precious niece, Carly, celebrated her fifth birthday last week! I can not believe my baby girl is that old! She is my sweet princess! Sissy got her an Easy Bake Oven so she could cook by herself like she wanted to!

Judson is a little-okay a lot- obsessed with the book "Baby Bear Baby Bear What Do You See?" We have to read it first thing when he wakes up and right before he goes to bed at night!

Carlton and I celebrated our 11 year anniversary last weekend. My parents kept the boys and we headed down to The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. It was an amazing weekend. We did nothing but get massages, lay around, eat and sleep!

Here we are: 11 years, 2 kids, a few pounds and a few wrinkles later!

I had a great weekend, but I was super excited to get these two boys in my lap for some love when I got home!

Fourth of July 2012

We had a wonderful 4th of July holiday this year! Our family came over to our house for dinner. We grilled hot dogs and made homemade ice cream.

After dinner, we loaded up and headed to the lake for the annual fireworks show. John Turner has gone every single year since he was born. He even went when he was in my tummy! He LOVES going to see the fireworks. He has never been scared of them at all.

Here are my handsome men all decked out in their red, white and blue!

It has been HOT, HOT, HOT around here lately! We were kinda worried that it would be too hot to take the kids to the fireworks show. But lucky for us, it came a little rain shower and cooled everything right off!

Here is our annual family 4th of July picture!
(We have a picture of us here every year--with the exception of last year-- when I was too pregnant to attend!)

We actually got a picture of Gran and Grandpa with ALL FOUR grandkids! Usually this never happens! One is always crying!

The kids had a great time! They were excited to finally get their glow necklaces and glow torches that I had bought for them.

We didn't know what Judson was going to do since he has never stayed up that late and he has never been around fireworks. Well, he did what he always does! He just smiled, was laid back and went with the flow! I swear he is the BEST baby in the world!!

And here is one reason John Turner really loves going to the fireworks every year: SNO CONES!

I just adore times like these with my precious boys!

Judson's favorite part of the night was dancing to the band's music! We sat right near the band and he just loved it!

John Turner is not doing this because the fireworks are too loud. He is doing this because he thought the band was too loud!! HA HA!

Judson and John Turner both really enjoyed the actual fireworks part! They both just relaxed and watched the beautiful show !
