Friends, Family, Food and Fireworks!

We had a busy and fun Fourth of July weekend! The fun began on Friday morning at around 9:00 when my very best friend in the whole world, Kelly, gave birth to a precious baby boy, Holden Blake.

Holden is very fortunate to be born into such a wonderful family. He has an amazing brother, Luke, who already loves him dearly. Brotherly love is so special. I was also there the day this sweet boy was born five years ago!

I decided to take John Turner up to the hospital to meet him on Saturday. This is pretty much the face he made when he saw me or Carlton even get near the new baby. He would say "my mommy, my daddy".

I finally got him to at least look at baby Holden. He would pet his blanket and say soft. Then he was saying bye bye and he was ready to get us away from that baby! HAHA!

John Turner and Carlton spent Saturday morning at the river. For those of you who know me, you know I don't do the river! LOL! Anyway, these are some pictures Carlton sent to me on my phone while they were there. They both had so much fun! As you see in the top picture, he was completely worn out when they left!

On Sunday morning we went to church. After church we got to have lunch with our friends the Hatchers and the Millers. Here is a picture of THEIR sweet kids! Of course my child would not cooperate for a picture!! But at least I got a picture of these three cute kiddos! This is Jaxon, Wyatt and Harper.

After church we had a long nap because we knew the rest of the day was going to be busy. When John Turner woke up from his nap he was so excited to see that his family was all there for a cookout!

John Turner had a blast playing with his cousins and loving on his grandparents! His favorite thing about the cookout was his Fourth of July cupcake!

After dinner we headed to the lake for the annual fireworks show. It was beautiful weather!

We have a family picture from last year that was taken in this same place. It is neat to look back and see the changes in John Turner over a year!

John Turner had fun dancing to the band, watching the ducks and just running up and down the street!

After being there for a while, we had to cool off with a sno cone!

We were worried that John Turner might be scared of the fireworks this year because he is scared of thunder. But we were wrong! Once the fireworks began, John Turner was mesmerized! He LOVED them! He was saying "fireworks, boom, boom" and pointing out the colors he saw. It was fun to watch him!

We ended our Fourth of July weekend with a good cold watermelon! John Turner thoroughly enjoyed it too!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
