The Man in Black(AKA...Grandpa)

My daddy is a well-known musician in the town in which I was raised. He performs a tribute to Johnny Cash each year to help raise funds for the local fire department. It was a packed house! There wasn't an empty seat in the house! John Turner had fun attending his first Grandpa concert! He even stayed up until 8:00, which is unusual for him.

Our best friends, Kelly and John, had us over for dinner on Sunday night. They have a precious little boy, Luke, who is almost 4 years old. It is so much fun to watch him interact with John Turner. Here is a picture of the two precious boys!

Stinking Shots!

We had to take John Turner to the doctor for his 6 months shots yesterday. This is what he thinks about those stinking shots!

He did recover from the shots rather quickly! He took a long nap immediately after we left the doctor. When he woke up he was fine. The doctor says he is doing great! He now weighs 16 lbs and is 27 inches long. He is still in the 75th percentile in length but has dropped to the 25th percentile in weight. The doctor says it is normal for their weight gain to slow down because they are more active now.

John Turner (and his mom and dad) are very glad that there are no more shots until 12 months of age!

Loving The Outdoors!

We have enjoyed the beautiful weather that God has given us these past couple of weeks! We have spent most of these beautiful days outdoors. I am thankful that John Turner likes to be outside because when there is warm sunshine I want to be ouside as much as possible! We have been able to go on walks each day which we have both really enjoyed. Carlton joins us when he is off of work. Today we met John Turner's favorite cousins at the park. We all went for a walk around the lake and had a picnic lunch. It was tons of fun!

6 Months Old Already?!?!

This sweet baby boy turned 6 months old today! We can't believe how fast this time has passed! The past 6 months have been the BEST 6 months of our entire lives for sure! It is amazing to watch our baby grow and develop each day! He is truly a blessing in our lives! Here is an update on our little munchkin!

• has TWO teeth(there are so cute when he smiles)
  
• likes to blow spit bubbles when he is mad about something
  
• reaches for his mommy and daddy(melts my heart)
  
• sits up unassisted(he is still a little wobbly)
  
• LOVES music(he even likes it when his mommy sings to him-trust me I can't sing)
  
• likes to be thrown up in the air
  
• is very ticklish
  
• scoots all over the place
  
• loves most all vegetable and fruits that he has tried(sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, and pears are faves)
  
• is a very good traveler(has been on many long shopping trips with his mom and dad)
  
• loves to go for walks outdoors(likes to walk at the lake and watch the ducks)
  
• loves to jump in his doorway jumper
  
• uses very high pitched squeals when excited about something
  
• babbles many sounds
  
• sucks that right thumb
  
• has well established sleep patterns-the boy loves his sleep!(we lay him down in his bed around 7:00 each night-he plays for a while but usually is asleep by 7:30- I sometimes have to wake him up at 8:00 the next morning so he can eat breakfast!)

Bouncy Boy!

Several people had suggested that I get John Turner a doorway jumper. Well, I did get him one and he LOVES it!! He has a blast jumping up and down! There is also a picture below of John Turner playing with his brother, Oliver Cat! It has been so beautiful we have gotten to spend a lot of time outdoors with Oliver Cat. He just loves to touch his fur! I am sure he will be tormenting Oliver in a short while!

Enjoying A Beautiful Day!

It was such a beautiful day today! We decided to go for a walk at the lake! John Turner loves to go for walks with us. He loves looking at the world outside. We had a great time! We even stopped to look at the beautiful blooming flowers. We also ran into John Turner's future girlfriend, Harper Anne, and her mom, Erin, at the lake. That was a treat! We are so happy that sweet baby is doing so well!

A Creepy Crawly Party!

John Turner attended his first birthday party today! His cousin, Chamber Lee, turned one year old! It was a very fun party! The theme of the party was bugs! Here are few pictures from the party today.

Snow Melts Quickly In Mississippi!

We were excited to find snow when we woke up this morning! It was coming down very hard and there was about an inch on the ground. This was around 7:00 this morning. It was VERY windy so we decided we would wait until a little later in the day to get pictures of John Turner in it. Well, we forgot how quickly Mississippi snow melts!! John Turner went down for his morning nap about 9:00. We thought that when he woke up it would be a great time to get some pics. Well, when he woke up from his nap around 10:30 the snow was almost completely gone!! We tried to snap a few pics of him in what little snow remained!
