Judson is 3 Months Old!

This little man turned 3 months old on October 26. I can hardly believe that three months have passed since we welcomed this perfect baby into our family!

He is starting to really feel out and look more like a baby rather than a newborn!

Judson at 3 months:

-weighs around 12.5 lbs according to our scales at home--we go back to the Dr. in November

-wearing size 1 diapers--starting to use size 1-2 with him this week

-wearing size 0-3 and 3 month clothing--starting to use some 3-6 month clothing too

-eats about 4-5 oz every 3 1/2 to 4 hours

-started sleeping through the night a few weeks ago--takes his bath and goes to bed around 7:30, I usually give him a bottle around 10:00 before I go to bed, he then sleeps until around 5:30, he then wakes up to eat and goes back to sleep until around 9:00

-staying awake for longer periods after his feedings now

-takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours naps 3 times a day

-bath time is his favorite time of the day--I have to just take him out of there! He never fuss to get out--I think he would play in the warm water for hours!

-starting to "talk" to us with some sweet coos and sounds

-we have gotten close to some out loud laughs; no big belly laughs yet; I can't wait to hear one though!

-loves being in his swing, on his play mat or in his bed watching his mobile

-loves for someone to sing to him

-hasn't rolled over yet; has rolled to his side a few times

-getting very strong and able to hold his head up for longer period of times while on his belly

-his changing table is his happy place!

Judson is truly the sweetest most content baby I have ever seen! I am so thankful for that! I say that God gave us a baby like this because he knew we were going to be dealing with a crazy three year old too! Ha Ha!!! We just love him more and more every single day! We love our crazy three year old too:-)!!!

Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trip to Lazy Acre Pumpkin Patch last weekend. We have taken John Turner here every year since he was born. This year our friends, the Dinglers, went with us. Their oldest son, Will, is John Turner's very best friend. John Turner had more fun this year than ever before! It was also hotter than ever before! It was a 90 degree fall day!! We were all sweating by the time we left! Nothing like fall in the south!

Look how tall my big boy has gotten!

John Turner and Will decided they wanted to go get their faces painted. Will chose a blue cat for his face. Love that sweet boy! John Turner told the girl straight up that she couldn't paint his face, but that she could paint a pumpkin on his hand! That boy!!

These boys just had the best time together! They almost look like brothers in some of these pictures. They had fun on the playground and petting all of the animals.

The coolest thing that has been added since we were there last year was this cool bouncing pillow! I even got on this thing! It was fun, fun, fun!!

Then we rested and got ready for the pig races!

Of course, we had to ride the train at least once before leaving!

Then it was time to get on the hayride and ride down to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkin. This was the first time Judson actually woke up that day so we got him out of his stroller to enjoy the hayride.

John Turner and Daddy picked just the right pumpkin for us! Well, Judson didn't seem to think it was the best one!

I always look forward to this time of year! The pumpkin patch is one of my favorite annual fall events!

The Fair!

The fair came to our town last week. We decided that John Turner might be old enough to enjoy some of the rides and games this year. So, we set out for a night at the fairgrounds. Now, this trip to the fair was totally for John Turner! I used to be able to ride all of those carnival rides. Now if I even watch one of them for a long period of time I feel nauseous! Time does change you!! HA HA!!

Here is Daddy paying for our way into the fair! He had no idea just how much money he was going to spend for a night(a couple of hours) at the fair!

The first thing we visited was the petting zoo. Carlton and John Turner enjoyed this part a lot! The llama was a big hit since his favorite series of books these days are the "Llama, Llama" ones.

John Turner then ran over to this bouncy house! Since Dora and Boots were on it, he just had to jump inside. Carlton paid for his way inside and he jumped for a total of about a minute and then he was ready to move on!

Then we headed out to the actual fair! The first thing John Turner wanted to ride was this mini roller coaster. He wanted to ride it because it looked like a train! Lucky for me I had sweet baby Judson in his stroller and I just couldn't leave him so Daddy had to ride all of the rides:-)

Next, he wanted to ride these motorcycles. Well, he did for about a minute. Then he began screaming and crying to get off! Luckily, the man stopped it and let him get off. He said it went way too fast and "scared him to death"!!

Next up was the carousel! Always a hit with John Turner!

Then he found these helicopters. He LOVED this ride! It was the favorite of the night!

We then entered the long, long row of games(AKA- a bunch of people trying to take a lot of your money just to give your kid some kind of junk!)

He chose to play the duck pull and the fishing for sharks game.

And lucky for us, we got to come home with these two lovely stuffed animals!!

So, to sum up our trip to the fair...

a petting zoo, a bouncy house, 4 rides, 2 games, 2 stuffed animals and ALMOST $100.00 later we were headed home!!!

Down on the Farm

John Turner's teachers used farm life to help enforce what they were learning about the letter "f". They learned all about life on the farm and the animals that live on the farm. On Friday, the students all came dressed a farmers. My little farmer was absolutely adorable!

Judson's First Trip to Church

Carlton has been taking John Turner to church by himself every Sunday since Judson has been born. We didn't feel comfortable taking Judson to the church nursery until after he had his two month check-up and shots. Well, he finally got his shots two weeks ago, and this momma was so glad that she could get back to SS and church. I sure was missing all of my precious church friends!

I think John Turner was the happiest of all that momma and baby brother were going to church with him finally!

We took him to our SS class with us for a little while when we got to church. We, of course, wanted to show him off a little. And to be honest, I just wasn't sure if I could leave his sweet self in the nursery yet! After getting a lot of attention and love from all of our SS friends, Carlton took him down and dropped him off at the nursery.

I swear the church service seemed to go on forever that Sunday! HA HA!! Anyway, he was just fine when we picked him up. He had taken his bottle and had taken a long nap! We are all super glad to be back at church as a family of four!

Judson is 2 Months Old

This sweet little thing turned two months old on September 26th.

I took him to see Dr. Ross for his two month check-up last week. He got a bunch of shots! He was such a big boy though. He cried for only a minute! Here we are in the waiting room.

He has started giving us the sweetest smiles this month. Not just those random smiles either. These are intentional smiles directed at us! They just couldn't be any sweeter or any cuter!

Some of his biggest and happiest smiles come first thing in the mornings when he sees big brother! He absolutely adores John Turner already! I just love that!

He enjoys spending some of his awake time in his bed looking at this mobile. John Turner LOVED this thing when he was this age. Judson is really enjoying it too! He will lay there for at least 30 minutes at a time just watching and talking to this thing!

He also enjoys sitting in his rock and play sleeper and watching out the window. He enjoys just looking at things in our backyard.

He has also recently become interested in this play mat. This was also something John Turner enjoyed(and still enjoys)when he was a baby! That monkey hanging down was John Turner's most favorite toy when he was that age. Judson is also very fond of the monkey! He just likes to swat at it and watch it swing!

He enjoys a little playtime on his tummy sometimes. He is really getting strong and starting to be able to lift that head way up! John Turner loves to get down on the floor and cheer him on when he is trying to lift his head.

Boy, has he grown this month!
