Celebration

Our precious friends threw us a celebration cookout last Saturday night! Not only did we celebrate the fact the Judson will be here in a few short weeks, we also celebrated the fact that John Turner will get to be a big brother soon! I loved that he and his friends were included in the celebration! Here is the cake that my sweet friend, Jenny, had made for the party.

Kelly and John hosted this celebration for us! They are truly the best friends ever! We have been friends for many years now! When we first met neither of us had children. They now have two precious boys and we are about to join them on that! Here is a picture of me and Kelly. I don't know what I would do without her in my life!

Here is a picture of some of my girlfriends at the party. That is not everyone but it was as close as I got to having all of the girls in one picture! This precious group of friends makes my life so much happier!

Here are just a few pictures of everyone enjoying the cookout.

The big brother and his friends also had a great time at the party!

Of course, they all brought some sweet gifts for Judson.

We had a fabulous time and feel so fortunate to have such an amazing group of friends in our life!

Library Time

As I said in an earlier post, Mommy is always looking for cool, indoor activities to entertain John Turner this summer. One of our favorite things is our weekly trip to the library. Last week he loved the books he checked out so much that he told me he didn't want to take them back he just wanted to buy them so they could stay at his house forever!

I want to remember what types of books he's into at this age. So I decided to take pictures of the books he checked out at our last two visits. Books about trucks and trains are usually our top choices these days.

One thing is for sure! We will not be leaving the library without at least one Thomas book in our stack!

First Trip to the Movies

It has been so hot around here lately! Especially for big pregnant girls!:-)
So we have been searching for cool indoor activities to keep John Turner entertained. This past week we decided to take him to the theater to see his first movie. We saw Cars 2. We went to the cheaper matinee showing not knowing how long we'd actually stay in the movie.
Here's the big boy requesting 3 tickets for Cars!

John Turner did much better than we ever imagined he would. We stayed for the entire movie! He sat in our laps and ate his popcorn and drank his sprite. He only got up twice, and that was for two bathroom breaks. His favorite parts were the racing scenes on the bridges and the car crashes! He's such a boy!

It was a fun activity for the three of us to enjoy as we spend our last few weeks as a family of three. I am looking forward to taking him to more movies in the future!

Best moment of the week: seeing our sweet boy on the ultrasound last week; he weighs about 4.9 lbs and should be born around August 10th; he had the back of his hand in his mouth most of the time and he had the chubbiest little cheeks; he reminded us a lot of John Turner!
