One Last Trip!

We decided to take one last trip as a family of three before baby brother arrives! Carlton and I went the beach alone back in May. We are planning a long beach trip in September for all of us. When I say all of us, I mean that we will be a family of four by then! So, we decided we wanted to take one last family of three trip. We know that the trip in September will be fun, but we also know that the trip will not be all about John Turner like our trips are right now! We wanted to have one last weekend where we could just play and enjoy our sweet first born!

The trip started out with a bang! We had a blowout on the way down. It was quite a scary experience! Thank goodness Carlton was driving and knew exactly what to do to keep us safe! After spending a little extra time getting a new tire, we finally made it to the beach. We stayed at The Beach Club. It was our first time to stay there and we really enjoyed it !John Turner was ready to swim the moment we got the condo! He just finished up with swimming lessons a couple of weeks ago and he was ready to swim!! He paddled and kicked his way all over that pool! He was so brave in the water this year. Total opposite of last year! He even started jumping off of the side of the pool by himself! He loved to play with his pool noodle and his water shooter. He also liked for Momma and Daddy to throw him back and forth across the pool. He also made us laugh a lot while swimming at the pool. He would get on the ladder and lay back and say he was doing his stretches! We have know idea where that came from. He also decided to introduce himself to everyone in the pool with us! He would swim right up to them and ask, "What are you doing today?" He is quite the little people person these days!

As soon as we finished dinner each night, we would get back to the room and John Turner would grab his swimming stuff and he was ready to go again! He and Daddy had quite a fun time doing some night swimming!

I have to say that John Turner is still not too fond of the actual beach! He like it a million times better than he did last year, but he still doesn't stay out on the beach for very long periods of time. He did enjoy playing in the sand and building sand castles with us. Actually, I should say he liked for us to build the castles and then all he wanted to destroy them! He was still a little afraid of the waves this year.

John Turner has been talking about catching a crab at the beach since we told him we were going! So Daddy bought a net and a flashlight and crabbing they went! I never thought they would actually catch one! Well, they actually did!! Daddy found out just how it felt to be pinched by a crab too:-)

John Turner has slept with us probably only once in his whole life. Well, he got to sleep with us on this trip. He was so excited about it! Momma had to wake these boys up every morning and at every nap time! They both love some sleep! Momma just wishes she could sleep for a few hours at this point in the pregnancy!

We went out to eat a couple of times while we were there. We went to the Hangout which is always so much fun for John Turner!

We also went to Tacky Jack's. John Turner loved it there because it is on the marina and he could see all of the fishing boats. One of the boats had just come in from a trip and he got to see all of the fish they had caught.

I just love this little boy more than I could ever imagine loving anything! He is my heart!

Here is Judson on our trip. I am 32 weeks pregnant here! I know that my love will grow even more when he is born!

Next beach trip we will be a family of four! We can not wait to experience it!

Best moment of the week: going through all of John Turner's newborn clothes and other things. I love remembering him in them and then picturing Judson in them!

Swim Lessons

We decided that John Turner really needed to take swimming lessons this summer. Since he is only two and very scared of new experiences and new people, we knew that private lessons were the only way to go this summer. We were very fortunate to find a wonderful swim instructor. Ms. Liz was fabulous with him! She is a teacher of first graders during the school year so she knew just how to make John Turner feel comfortable!

The first few days were a little rough on him. First, I had to just drop him off and leave him there with total strangers! Second, he had to put his face in the water at least three times at his first lesson. John Turner does not like to be left with strangers and he does not like water in his face! After day one, Ms. Liz told him to bring a favorite toy that could do swimming lessons with him the rest of the week. Well, that worked like magic! He decided to take two of his Weebles, one boy and one girl, with him on day 2. He still was upset about putting his face in the water on day 2, but overall a much better experience. Each day just got better and better! He got braver and was following commands in the water! He especially enjoyed when he got to use the pool noodles and the pool rings!

Today was his last day and when I picked him up I got to sit by the pool and let him show me what he had learned this week. I was amazed! That boy paddled his hands and kicked his feet with his face underwater from his instructor to her assistant! This was a huge step for him! On the ride home today he said, "Mommy, I am so proud of myself!" Mommy and Daddy are very proud of him too!! We love that precious thing!!

Nursery Sneak Peek!

Here is a little peek into Judson's nursery so far. We have been working hard lately to get some things done in there! When I look at the calendar and realize that there is only 10 weeks left until my due date, I start to get a little nervous that things are not going to be done in time! I know that they will though! And what doesn't get done probably won't really matter anyway! We can hardly believe that in 10 weeks or less we will have a new baby sleeping in this crib! We are beyond excited to meet this little angel!
